Cruelty to Angels CONTEST! By William “KushrenadaT” Laurel woke up to a cramp in her wing; it felt as if her muscles were trying to force her wings open but not succeeding. As she began to yawn and take in a deep breath of the morning air she found that she was unable to pull in a full breath. Laurel felt a small gag in her mouth preventing her from breathing through her mouth yet alone say anything. As she opened her eyes all that was returned was darkness of something covering her eyes with a few small pinholes of light streaming through the darkness of her vision. As she started to panic she attempted to bring her hands up to pull what ever was on her face away, her hands stopped short as she heard the sounds of chains being pulled tight. The shackles around her wrists where tight; they restrained her movements, yet felt soft on her skin. As the adrenaline ripped her mind away from the dreams of an angel she felt encumbered by all of the restraints that where upon her. There was a heaviness on either wing restraining her from stretching them. They where starting to spasm under the irons, which where a great deal tighter than would be considered necessary to hold her. From about her waist up to her chest felt like someone was constricting tighter and tighter around her body. It felt like having some one trying to squeeze the air out of her. The manacles on her wrists where accompanied by ones at her ankles. The softness astounded her more then anything about the situation, as unyieldingly tight as they fit there was not a sensation of metal biting into her skin. Laurel’s other senses started to come back to her, like she was coming out of a haze, and she felt the floor she was lying on shift. Then there was a bump that startled her as she heard the sounds of a horse pulling a cart like it was on top of her. An additional bump forced her head down and she hit the floor of the cart with her head. Laurel felt a surge of pain from the impact as stars materialize in her vision. Laurel inhaled sharply and winced from the pain of the collision with the cart’s floor. She heard movement as her captors now recognized that she was conscious. An odd voice spoke – male – but something was off as regards to the voice. “She is awake,” the voice not quite hissed. “Good,” a distance female voice responded. The tapping of heels on wood accompanied someone stepping closer to Laurel. Suddenly Laurel’s eyesight was returned to her as the mask that had covered her eyes was removed. There was brilliant light and for a small number of seconds all Laurel could make out where some shadows as her eyes became accustomed to the obtrusive light of day. Then, out on nowhere, there was a woman standing over Laurel looking down into her emerald eyes only a few inches from her. The woman had crimson red eyes, her face was stunning, and Laurel would have gasped if not for the gag in her mouth. As her subjugator moved away Laurel had an opportunity to see who was seizing her against her will. She was clad in a leather corset. Her large breasts and sensual hips gave her a perfect hourglass figure with the help from the corset. Her lengthy hair was out of the ordinary, as it was a reddish orange that faded into a white as it passed her waist and ended about half way down her elongated legs. Tight leather pants embrace every curvature of her legs as Laurel’s eyes looked up and down her captor’s body. The heels she had on caught Laurel’s eyes as they where very large heels but had locks on the top that wrapped around her ankles like shackles. The rest of the heels gave the impression of being ornate and something in Laurel felt like she needed to have a pair of her own. “At least you know good taste when you see it,” the woman said as she saw Laurel staring at the heels her captor had on. “Don’t be concerned, you will have a pair of you own in good time,” she continued, almost amused by her own statement when she finished her intimidation. “Sorry about the gag, can’t have you screaming while we ride to your new master’s residence.” There was an awkward moment in her voice as she looked down at Laurel, the resentment in the woman’s voice clear. “You could make an outstanding servant,” she finished and started to laugh to herself as she walked away. Laurel looked downward to see what she had been dressed in. Her robes where gone, replaced by a corset identical to the one the woman was wearing. The shackles on her wrists and ankles were so soft because there was fur on the inside of them. Whoever had abducted her was trying to make sure the bonds she had on would not harm her before she was delivered. A single tear streamed down the side of Laurel’s face as she wished that Raya was here with her. They journeyed on for some time. Laurel tried her best to not be beat around in the back of the wagon she was being abducted in. Finally they stopped and Laurel tried to see what was around but the chains prevented her from looking over the sides of the wagon. Then the woman appeared again with a key in one hand and a whip in the other. “I hope I don’t have to use this,” she said as she gestured the whip towards Laurel. “So you better do what I tell you to do,” she finished with an unsympathetic tone in her voice. Laurel nodded as the woman produced a metal collar with the same fur on the inside and a short chain attached to it. She placed it around Laurel’s neck and made sure the collar was locked. Then one by one the woman unlocked the chains from their other shackles on Laurel and chained her hands, feet, and wings to their respective counterpart. Laurel’s captor took the chain from the collar around Laurel’s neck and held it in her hand and after Laurel’s captor finished she held the chains from the collar in one hand she reached the other hand down to help Laurel up. Laurel took her hand and stood up. Then to Laurel’s great surprise she took the gag out of Laurel’s mouth and said, “After all, we are all in the equivalent circumstances here. My name is Kristy. What’s yours?” Kristy said to Laurel. Laurel just stared at Kristy, not confident what to say. Kristy then asked, “You do have a name, don’t you?” “Laurel,” Laurel finally responded after another moment of silence. “Nice to meet you Laurel,” Kristy said as she led Laurel out of the wagon. Laurel looked around but did not see anyone else. “You’re wondering where my master has gone?” Kristy interjected. “He went ahead; we are alone for the moment.” Laurel could not help but look intently at Kristy. “Why where you so mean to me before and so pleasant now?” Laurel blurted out after a few heartbeats past. Laurel was taken aback by the audacity of the question she had just asked Kristy. “Because that is how our master wants me to act all the time. When he is not around, I can be me. But when he is near something just comes over me and I act how he wants me to. Like I said, we are both in the same situation here. He trusts me nowadays, but it has taken several years to receive the master’s confidence that I can be left unaccompanied.” “But-” Laurel started courageously then paused as she was reconsidering her question. “Who is this master? What is his name and why he does keep us as slaves?” she finally finished her statement. “He brings together rare people as servants. Rather, it is rare races of mythical humanoids. He keeps us like someone who would collect pieces of art. I can see why he would be fond to have you as one of his servants.” Kristy paused as something started to come over her. With out warning Kristy pulled Laurel’s chains tight and the pain of the bonds on her wings made her double over. Laurel kept her balance and looked up into Kristy’s eyes. The thoughtfulness and consideration that just a moment before had been a foundation for Laurel to feel that everything was going to be all right had vanished, replaced by an almost malevolence towards her. “Time to join us,” Kristy stated as she glared down at Laurel. As Kristy pulled Laurel around the wagon she saw a fissure in the world. Behind the rift was a bright forest but through the rift there was a great stronghold built of black stone with a tempest sky suspended above. The master stood next to the rift, clad in a great black robe, his blue eyes shined from under the hood that obscured the rest of his face. He held out a hand that was insubstantial but still looked as though it had the power to control fate. He was gesturing the two women into the rift. Something in Laurel’s heart knew that if she entered she would be lost from her friends and sister eternally. Kristy started to pull Laurel towards the rift, but Laurel resisted Kristy. As Laurel did so, Kristy started to grin as she pulled out the whip she had earlier. Kristy started to raise her hand to strike Laurel, but when Kristy’s hand reached it’s apex of her swing she stopped. She held it there for a moment as the sound of melody could be heard. Raya burst through the canopy of the trees with her voice carrying the chorus of a counter song. Laurel’s heart leapt for joy as Raya struck Kristy’s master, pushing him back into the rift. Being as powerful of a mage as he was, he was still able to complete an enchantment that started to pull Kristy into the rift after him. Kristy was being pulled in and so was Laurel as Kristy’s hand still clutched the chins that restrained Laurel. Raya grappled Laurel as she and Kristy where being pulled into the rift. Suddenly Kristy released the chins from her hand. Laurel tried to grab Kristy’s hand, but she was out of reach. “Be free!” Kristy yelled and smiled to Laurel as she fell into the rift and it closed once she had passed through. Laurel fell to the ground and just stared to where the rift had been for a few seconds, helpless as Raya started to take off Laurel’s shackles. Raya subsequently knelt down and looked into Laurel’s beautiful emerald eyes that where starting to swell with tears. “She does not deserve that life,” Laurel said as she brushed away her tears. “I swear if I ever find them again I will free Kristy!” Laurel promised herself and Kristy as she stood up; despite the fact that something in her knew she would never see Kristy for a second time. “And I, as ever, will help you Laurel,” Raya said as she and Laurel started to walk off into the woods, reunited.
